Sometimes we face a major problem with our common used download manager i.e. Internet Download Manager (IDM) when we upgrade the browser from one version to other . Usually it is experienced in case of Mozilla Firefox . There is an extension IDM cc in the extension files (It is according to the version of the firefox). So by the next installation it does not work properly.
Here are the steps for clean installation of the browser with correct IDM cc
- Upgrade your Mozilla browser. (May from any download site or help > check for updates, in menu bar).
- Install the browser. (custom or standard)
- Now go to the "Add-ons" option from the "Tools" menu in menu bar.
- Search "IDM cc".
- Install in your browser.
- Restart Firefox.
There is a limitation of the IDM extension that doesnt support the firefox version more than 3.6.10.
Because there is no official release of the higher version of the extension it is not going to compatible .
Newe version of the extension is available from long time which is compatible with newer firefox versions.
